The tourism sector, engine of growth of the governorate economy, is characterized by a rich and diversified offer (health and wellness tourism, cultural tourism). Cradle of thalassotherapy in Tunisia, Sousse has developed since 1994 a strategy to acquire state-of-the-art equipment, train a highly qualified workforce and thus offer quality services.

The key sectors of Sousse's economic development are textiles and clothing, mechanics, electricity, electronics, ICT and the food industry; the emergence of various industries and services strengthens the region's assets and promotes IDE.
