PHEMAC Newsletter Goals
The PHEMAC newsletter has been designed and aims at promoting the project’s results to interested users, It has multi-fold objectives:
- Inform on recent and future PHEMAC activities and events,
- Summarize ongoing activities,
- Provide links to detailed material on specific subjects,
- Foster liaison with other related projects,
- Disseminate and advertise the project’s results,
- Announce significant events (e.g. conferences) related to PRIMA SRIA priorities and WEF fields
About PHEMAC
PHEMAC aims to develop and disseminate an interactive platform that will gather and share best practices focused on PRIMA SRIA priorities, involving a wide range of stakeholders from the farming system, water management and agri-food sectors.
PHEMAC Innovation Week
October 10-11, 2022, Beirut, Lebanon
Within the framework of the project Participatory Hub for Effective Mapping, Acceleration and Capitalization (PHEMAC) funded by PRIMA – EC, the Climate Change and Environment Program at the American University of Beirut’s Issam Fares Institute of Public Policy and International Affairs is organizing the PHEMAC Innovation Week.
Joint PHEMAC and NEX-LABS Innovation Week outcomes: strategies and solutions to pave the way towards entrepreneurship in the Mediterranean
From 17 to 20 January 2022
From 17 to 20 January 2022, the joint EU-funded NEX-LABS and PHEMAC Innovation Week brought together Euro-Mediterranean researchers, policy makers, investors, Industry players, Academia, Technology Transfer Offices, SMEs, startups and Entrepreneurs.
PHEMAC iHub
The PHEMAC iHub was launched in June 2021. Conceived as a tool to stimulate visibility and reuse of results, the iHub is a central component of the PHEMAC project and collects and disseminates information about projects funded by various agencies that publicly share their data.
The iHUB is not a single platform but has been implemented with modularity in mind, both from the functional/logical viewpoint and from a software architecture perspective. As far as the first aspect is concerned, the iHUB is composed by the four main components depicted in the diagram below

The PHEMAC seminar held on 24th March in Morocco was a success, as evidenced by:
• The participation of approximately 70 researchers from the NEXUS-WEF domain, including the national responsibles of 8 PRIMA projects
PHEMAC Editorial Board meetings

The editorial board of the project has organized 3 virtual meetings on the 28 February, 11 April, and 23 May 2022 and discussed about:
• PHEMAC Innovation Week which will be organized in Beirut, Lebanon next October 2022
• Follow up of PHEMAC activities
• Dissemination and communication about PHEMAC
Joint Event ARIMNET-ERANETMED-PRIMA
June 30, 2022
The objective of the meeting is to capitalize on the projects funded by Era-Nets programmes in particular, Arimnet and Era-Net-Med. The event will be also the opportunity to provide visibility to project results, share best practices and enhance their networking.
The project PHEMAC (project funded under PRIMA 2019-NEXUS-CSA) will provide services and explore ways how to help already finished projects to valorize their results and understand the support actions, tools, incentives, or instruments that projects may require to reach the market, depending on their maturity stage
