PHEMAC NEWSPHEMAC WPs Progress PHEMAC 1st Innovation Week 19/10/2020-22/10/2020 “PHEMAC First innovation week Cairo” was organized from 19th October to 22nd October 2020, it was hosted virtually by The Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT) and attended by more than 75 participants consolidating the existing relationship between the different stake holders; it gathered representatives from governmental institutions, private sector and general public to share project aims, results and benefits of capitalizing previous granted efforts. PHEMAC Synergies with NEX-LABS Project In order to promote cooperation and the advancement of academic, educational exchanges and technology transfer between PHEMAC Project Partners and NEX-LABS Project Partners, the two consortiums have agreed to sign an agreement within fields that are mutually acceptable within the water, energy and food research fields Online Information Session on ISO 56002:2019 - Innovation Management 12/11/2020 The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Center (CCIC) and the Research and Technology Center of Energy (CRTEn) Tunisia organized, within the framework of the PHEMAC project a Webinar on the Innovation Management System ISO 56002:2019 the new standard for Innovation Management Systems.

Role of Water-Energy Nexus in Water Service Provision in Lebanon The interrelation between energy and water, known as the water-energy nexus, though well established and understood by most practitioners, has been ignored by policy makers in developing energy and water policies. This has led to the rise of complex challenges, especially in Lebanon, due to the fact that policies and strategies in both sectors have often been developed in isolation of each other. This resulted in policy fragmentation that has negatively affected the sustainable development of both sectors.

APPLY FOR THE MENA RIH CALL FOR INNOVATIONS We are pleased to announce that the Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) – MENA Regional Innovation Hub, led by Berytech and in collaboration with Chemonics Egypt, cewas and IWMI, has launched its first call for proposal.
